Hozier Official Webpage Analysis

Hozier's Official Page
This website immediately greets you with a clip from his 2019 release song "Wasteland Baby". This video plays in the background of the website continuously as you scroll down to view various albums and tickets available. The whole video playing on repeat features Hozier underwater sitting on a chair watching various household appliances such as books and flowers slowly rise to the surface of the water. This video gives an aesthetic light blue tone to the whole page and constantly plays the simple two shots throughout your time on the website.
The font is a simple capital block like font with the exception of his name and the title of his newest album in a hand drawn, roughly sketched, capital font. All the text at the top of the home page is in a plain white colour, until you scroll down to view tickets and events. These events are laid out in a messy aesthetic, much like the top of the home page. Each event or ticket is given its own worn parchment as seen here:

This style is continued throughout the website. A sort of roughly sketched, relaxed tone. In the main image of the continuously playing video on the home page, Hozier is wearing a grey tank top and a white shirt which has been unbuttoned, letting the shirt spread out and be influenced by the clear blue water. This also gives this relaxed, laid back tone as if he has come home from work, letting himself and his clothes be influenced and carried effortlessly by the water. This relaxed tone is also carried throughout his music, which is known for being calming and relaxing. Perhaps this could symbolise the necessity to sometimes let go of the control in life and relax, letting the figurative water carry you away. Literally going with the flow.
